In his role as DBSA’s advisor, Doug has spearheaded the group’s participation in National Depression Screening Day. He has been named the DBSA Professional Advisor of the Year.
Doug is a member of the NASW of NJ Speakers Bureau. He lectures to both professional and public groups on a variety of topics including: personality disorders, overcoming anxiety and panic, making successful behavioral changes, and the stigma of mental illness.
He has led groups for patients dealing with Borderline Personality Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress, and helping physicians understand how their patient’s mental health affects their physical well-being. While serving as the Regional Manager for a national employee assistance program, he designed and implemented programs on stress and wellness for employees of Fortune 500 companies.
In addition to working with clients, Doug has also provided clinical supervision to clinical social work interns.
