  • Josh Glawe, L.C.S.W. / Licensed Clinical Social Worker

    Josh Glawe, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, provides individual, family, marital, and group therapy. His versatile practice includes treating the pre-teen through adult population. He specializes in treating adolescent disorders, including oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, adolescent depression and anxiety, and self-injurious behaviors. Josh understands the importance of family involvement in treating adolescents and works effectively with parents to manage child behavioral concerns.

    Josh’s adult specialties include treating those experiencing loss and bereavement, depression, anxiety and panic, and end-of-life issues. He is skilled at treating relationship issues, marital conflict, and family communication problems. He uses empirically based and practical interventions, which are specifically geared to yield results.

    In addition to treating a wide array or mental health concerns, Josh has expertise in substance abuse and therapy/support for those living in recovery. He is well versed at treating both adult and adolescent drug and alcohol addiction. Josh recognizes the difficulty of obtaining and maintaining sobriety, and utilizes a range of cognitive, behavioral, and insight oriented therapies that enhance and sustain motivation for personal growth and well being. Josh also provides therapy and education to family members of substance abusers.

    Previously, Josh was a clinical consultant for the Division of Youth and Family Service (DYFS). He provided clinical expertise and guidance to Union County DYFS offices and acted as a liaison to the Department of Children’s Behavioral Health Services, PerformCare, and Care Management Organizations (CMO). Josh has worked as a clinician for Carrier Clinic, Trinitas Hospital, and Mt. Carmel Guild. He created, implemented, and managed a School-Based Youth Services Program sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Family and Children’s Services.

    Josh’s out-of-state professional experiences include interning for St. Patrick’s Addiction Treatment Program and the University of Montana’s Counseling and Psychological Program in Missoula. He has also worked as a care manager in the state of Maine, coordinating services for dually diagnosed youth.

    Josh received his undergraduate degree in Social Work from the University of Montana and his Masters Degree in Social Work from New York University. Josh frequently speaks/lectures to professional organizations, including the Morris County Professional Counselor Association, and has conducted in-service trainings on adolescent mental health for various school districts. He is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers and is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker by the State of New Jersey.
