Stacey Spencer, Ed.D. / Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Stacey L. Spencer is a New Jersey licensed psychologist. She earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, New Jersey. Dr. Spencer completed her postdoctoral training at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine; NYU Medical Center. She also completed a second postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology with a private practice affiliated with Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. She received a certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Specialties include comprehensive neuropsychological assessment of children and adolescents following concussion and other traumatic brain injuries. Also, she conducts neuropsychological evaluations in areas related to attention and learning disabilities. She provides individual psychotherapy through an interpersonal, insight oriented and cognitive behavioral therapy approach. Structured behavioral management plans for children and social skills training are also utilized to address specific issues as needed. Lastly, Dr. Spencer provides cognitive rehabilitation to aide in compensatory strategies for executive dysfunction following brain injury as well as with regard to learning and academic difficulties.
