Dr. Singer regularly testifies as an expert witness in New Jersey Superior Court in civil and criminal sex-offender matters. These cases include Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) hearings in NJ and the similar Article 10 SOMTA trails in New York State. Dr. Singer is available to speak to professional groups about the psychological evaluation of sex offenders.

Dr. Singer also conducts various Psychological Evaluations addressing questions such as impact of medical malpractice, fitness to parent, termination of parental rights, bonding, Pretrial Intervention Program (PTI), as well as Independent Medical Exam’s (IME). Dr. Singer offers psychotherapeutic services to adults, couples, families and groups.

Dr. Singer’s theoretical orientation is broadly informed with the ultimate goal of meeting each client’s unique needs. Particular interests include depression, anger management, sexual addictions, abusive relationships, and increasing emotional regulation skills such as frustration tolerance and impulse control.
Dr. Singer is the current president of the Essex-Union County Association of Psychology (EUCAP, formerly Society of Psychologists in Private Practice) and is a member of the following associations: American Psychological Association, New Jersey Psychological Association, Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (National and State), New Jersey Association for Cognitive Behavioral Therapists, Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration, Society for Risk Analysis, and The International Network of Orthodox Mental health Professionals (NEFESH).

Dr. Singer received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University in 1984. In 1993, he earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and trained as an intern at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ. He holds license of the independent practice of psychology in NJ and NY states. Since 1984, Dr. Singer has worked with various populations in numerous modalities across a variety of mental health settings, including several hospital affiliations.
